-Evolving Statement on Relief Painting

Painting of a canvas in relief represents the changing view and shifting of the landscape we move through. It’s about the experience of viewing painting as the environment it replaces. It could be representative of the particular or the massive scale, from the subtle displacement of matter repositioning itself around us to the earth’s relation to our solar system. The world we exist in is in flux, which is constant. Mans interaction along with natural forces shape and reshaped a constantly evolving landscape that is deconstructing and reforming all aspects of our surroundings. The idea is to show how nothing is as motionless as it appears and that there are a variety of ways to see the beauty around us, which may only be visible that way for a short time. I freeze a moment of this narrative and show that even though frozen this motion and change are captured in time, which can be experienced through our interaction in viewing of painting.
